Introduction¶
Although backwards compatibility of Squish test scripts is one of the most important goals that we aim for it can happen that a new Squish package (we provide snapshot packages on a daily basis) an incompatibility with existing test scripts occur.
Because of this it is strongly suggested to test new Squish packages thoroughly with your existing test scripts before using the new packages in "production", for example on systems that run the tests every night or so.
It is recommended to test new Squish packages in a setup that resembles the "production" automation system setup as closely as possible.
This way you can still get your daily test results and have a good basis for deciding whether to update the Squish packages on the "production" systems.
